As the year comes to an end, we would like to remember our esteemed colleague Richard Brooks, who passed this year after a lifetime of outstanding service to education and scholarship. A prolific contributor and leader in his field, his work as an editor of A Critical Bibliography of French Literature and his brilliant book on Voltaire and Leibnitz mark him as an outstanding thinker. His learning and mentorship touched the lives of many scholars and students, both as writers and readers. The Henri Peyre Institute is grateful for his participation, insight and generosity.
